I will be exhibiting at Knowle West Media Centre in Bristol from 28 May - 1 September as part of the Fotonow (CIC) South West Graduate Photography Prize 2013, to coincide with Bristol Photography Festival 2014. I will be showing work from ‘The Militarisation of Dartmoor’, alongside fellow shortlisted graduates Katy Brothers, Sydney Cunningham, Katie Emmett, Patrick Graham, India Pocock and Matthew Sheather.
I headed back out onto the firing ranges of Dartmoor National Park the other week to re-visit OP7. With my debut solo show coming up in a little under a month, I wanted to shoot an image especially for this exhibition. It will be hung with 15 others at Green Hill Arts, Moretonhampstead (UK) from May 3rd - June 25th.
Back home from another 3 days shooting in Bristol. Won’t be getting the negs back from the lab for quite some time, so instead - here is an iPhone snap of today’s models refusing to leave the hair & make-up shed…enjoy.
'The Militarisation of Dartmoor' will have its first solo show at Green Hill Arts, Moretonhampstead from Saturday 3rd May - Wednesday 25th June 2014, with the opening night on Friday 2nd May. The show is kindly sponsored by Devon County Council, The Dartmoor Trust & Green Hill Arts. To view the whole project, please visit www.nicholaswhitephotography.co.uk
Was strange to be back out shooting on Okehampton Ranges this afternoon for the first time since last May! Reshot Observation Post 7 to be shown as a one off alongside 11 other large prints at The Militarisation of Dartmoor solo show (May 3rd - June 25th).
Today’s office - a very blustery recon trip to the roof of St Mary Redcliffe, Bristol. Working out the logistics of hauling a large format camera up a crumbling spiral staircase! This is for the new series - The 5000 Island Forest - commissioned by FotoNow (Plymouth) & Knowle West Media Centre (Bristol).
A great two days in London at the Magnum Photos & IdeasTap professional practice weekend! Many thanks to the folio reviewers/speakers for their time and for the rest of the winning photographers for showing some amazing work. Looking forward to keeping in touch with all of you!
