The Somerset Levels is a large (170,000 acres) area of flat landscape situated in the South West of England. Due to the excessive rainfall that the UK has seen in recent months, the area has been flooded since before Christmas. For the past few weeks I’ve been visiting the area, documenting the devastating effects that these floods have had on the local farmers whilst also trying to better understand the impact of the flooding on the English landscape.
Here is one of the first rough scans from the work so far, taken just outside Burrowbridge - one of the worst hit areas of the floods.
